There are five books in this series of piano books. I have found them to be quite helpful for my piano students and wouldn't use any other series. I teach primary aged students and each book introduces new notes and concepts in a sequence that is easy for this age group to grasp. Pieces are short and can be learned in one lesson. This keeps the students interested without allowing them to be frustrated. New notes are reinforced by several easy pieces before going on to another new note. Each level increases in difficulty but is not too overwhelming for this age group. I can recommend John Thompson piano series to any piano teacher, or someone who wants to teach him/herself.
